Congresswoman Federica Wilson (FL-24) reunited yesterday with several kidnapped Nigerian school girls who escaped from the terrorist group Boko Haram.

The girls are among the handful of those who escaped from the more than 200 still in captivity.

Now attending school on scholarships in the U.S., the girls stopped by Wilson’s office in Washington D.C. on Tuesday.

“I am delighted to see these brave and wonderful young girls again. They’ve experienced unspeakable horrors that no child should ever have to endure just because they want and deserve an education,” said Wilson in a statement.

Wilson met the girls during her visit to Nigeria in June, earlier this year.

“[W]e continue to fight for the release of more than 200 young girls who remain captives of the terrorist group Boko Haram,” she said. “The international community must not let this terror continue.”

Wilson added: ” We still tweet daily, #bringbackourgirls, for the safe return of the kidnapped Nigerian school girls. “We have a large and supportive following and our purpose is to show the world that Boko Haram is a major threat.”
