An ally of Gov.-elect Rick Scott and former aide of former U.S. President Richard Nickson who served time in prison for his role in the Watergate scandal that brought down the Nixon presidency will speak at a high-profile event commemorating Scott’s ascension to the Florida Governor’s Mansion.
Chuck Colson, who served seven months in prison for the Watergate scandal during which he converted to Christianity, will keynote Scott’s prayer breakfast on January 4th at Florida A&M University in the capital city.
Colson, 79, has written 20 books since his time in prison and founded the Prison Fellowship Ministries (PFM) in 1973.
Other speakers will include Pastor Kirt Anderson, Bill Bunkely, Freda King and readings by Rabbi Moshe Scheiner, Bishop Frank J. Dewane and Scott’s family members.
Gov.-elect is expected to speak at the breakfast as well.
