The owner of a pill mill and a doctor connected to the clinic, was arrested and charged with prescription drug trafficking, FDLE said. The officer manager and medical assistant of the clinic were also arrested.
27-year-old Anthony J. Paradyse, of Deltona, owner and manager of the Florida Family Health Care, is accused of knowingly operating an unlicensed pain clinic, trafficking in oxycodone and obtaining a controlled by fraud, all felony charges.
Paradyse was booked into the Orange County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
FDLE also arrested Dr. Jean-Lu Michel, 56, of Boynton Beach, the clinic’s physician, for knowingly operating an unlicensed pain clinic. Michel was taken to the Indian River County Jail.
Dubbed “Operation Paradyse Falls” authorities say, the investigation began in July 2011, after a tip was received from a confidential informant.
Also charged is clinic office manager Jermaine Lydell Johnson,34, of Deltona, with one count of knowingly operating an unlicensed pain clinic, a third-degree felony and medical assistant Alexandra Jane Grech,23, with trafficking in oxycodone and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, both felonies.
Grech was booked into the Volusia County Jail, but Johnson remains at-large, FDLE said.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Health partnered with FDLE during the investigation.
FDLE also said, the investigation is ongoing.
