The public is invited to attend the first in a series of two Town Hall meetings sponsored by the Florida Civil Rights Association (FCRA), Southside Church of Christ and the First Shilon Missionary Baptist Church.
Youth, Judges, Police, Educators, Elected Officials, and Pastors will discuss ways to prevent violent crimes, school bullying and another incident like Trayvon Martin.
The first of the Town Hall Meetings is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, 2012, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Southside Church of Christ at 4701 Raleigh Street, Orlando, Florida 32811. Monica May, radio personality at Star 94.5fm, and Pastors Wesley Leonard, State Chair of Religious Affairs of the Florida Civil Rights Association will serve as moderators.

Attendees can expect brief introductory comments from each participate. The remainder of the meeting will be dedicated to community members voicing their concerns on violent crimes, the Stand Your Ground Law, preventing another Trayvon Martin incident, and building a better relationship between community and police.

Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the First Shilon Missionary Baptist Church, 700 South Elm Avenue, Sanford, Florida 32771. Pastor Harry D. Rucker who organized the first Justice for Trayvon rally in Sanford for the Rev. Al Sharpton, the Trayvon Martin’s family and Attorneys will serve as moderator. Participants will be announced next week.
