A man who shot a woman in the head and in her back at a church in St. Cloud, is now in police custody.
Investigators say, Ramon Rosado, 76, shot Dalia Ayala, 74, one time in the back of the head and twice in her chest, in a domestic incident. The shooting happened just after 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, at the Prince of Peace Church located at 2017 Hickory Tree Road in St. Cloud.
St. Cloud police officers who responded to the scene, were able to apprehend Rosado in the church parking lot, as he attempted to flee.
Ayala was airlifted to the Orlando Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition.
Investigators say, Rosado sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
Rosado was transported by ambulance to ORMC.
Police have not released any further information, as the investigation continues.
