Dozens of children in foster care recently spent a special afternoon at the theater, watching Hamilton and reuniting with siblings.
“Keeping brothers and sisters together in foster care is a top priority, but, unfortunately, that’s not always possible,” said Glen Casel, president and CEO of Embrace Families, the lead nonprofit agency overseeing child welfare in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. “This was the perfect setting to raise awareness about the need to keep siblings together, and we’re incredibly grateful to the Dr. Phillips Center’s community giveback initiative for including our children and families in this experience.”
In total, 27 foster families took in the widely popular, award-winning Broadway production and enjoyed a special lunch hosted by Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
