A 7-year-old child is in critical condition at the Arnold Palmer Hospital, after being run over by an SUV on Friday morning.
Troopers say, 67-year-old Hernan Gulloso, of New York, was driving westbound on Bellalago Drive in Osceola County, approaching a traffic circle. Â As he exited onto Valleyview Drive, that’s when he collided with 7-year-old Alexis Rodriguez, who was riding a bicycle in a marked crosswalk, crossing Valleyview Drive.
Alexis was thrown off his bicycle and run over by the 2009 Ford SUV Gulloso was driving. Â He was transported to the Arnold Palmer Hospital in critical condition.
Gulloso told troopers that he was unable to see the child, due to sun being in his eyes.
Trooper say, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
