A retired Chiropractor was arrested on Friday, charged with 55 counts of child pornography, Polk County deputies said.
Samuel Oklesh, 67, in the 1100 block of 6th Avenue, Vero Beach, was taken into custody after fleeing with his live-in ex-wife in the middle of the night to Indian River County.
Polk County undercover officers began their investigation in December 2012 with the execution of a search warrant at 216 Lake Region Boulevard in Winter Haven, in reference to a subject downloading child pornography. Detectives say, the on-scene preview was inconclusive and required a full forensic examination.
A full forensics review located 500 images/videos of child pornography – images of children exposing their genitals in a lewd manner, children engaging in sexual acts with other children, and adults engaging in sexual acts with children. The images included infants and children up to 10 years of age.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Oklesh however, it was discovered the suspect and his live-in ex-wife, Kim Wilson, moved in the middle of the night, several days later, deputies also said.
Investigators caught up with Oklesh in Indian River where he was arrested. Oklesh was booked into the Indian River County Jail where he is being held.
