A Central Florida woman has been sentenced for human trafficking of three girls in the greater Orlando area.
38-year-old Shana Bryant received two life sentences for her part in a human trafficking scheme involving underaged victims.
This month, an Orange County jury convicted Bryant on two counts of Human Trafficking. Bryant was charged with using juvenile victims, who were runaways from foster care, to commit sexual acts for money.
According to law enforcement, Bryant, Tyrell Ponds, and Tracy Koger trafficked two 15-year-old girls and a 16-year-old girl at various locations around Orange County.
A judge sentenced Bryant to life in prison. Human trafficking of a minor carries a mandatory life sentence for each count.
The two co-defendants in Bryant’s case were also arrested on human trafficking-related charges. In September 2023, Tracy Koger pled guilty to two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Human Trafficking and Unlawful Use of Two-Way Communication Device. She was sentenced to 20 years in the Florida Department of Corrections.
Tyrell Ponds’s case is still pending. He is charged with three counts of Human Trafficking and Sexual Battery. His trial is set for January 22, 2024.
