A Central Florida woman was indicted for distributing, receiving, and possessing child sexual abuse material.
United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the return of an indictment charging 34-year-old Jessica Corin Mangano, of St. Cloud near Kissimmee, with two counts of distributing, two counts of receiving, and one count of possessing child sexual assault material (CSAM).
If convicted, Mangano faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 5 years up, to 20 years, in federal prison for each distribution and receipt offense and up to 20 years in federal prison for the possession offense.
According to the indictment, on July 2, 2024, Mangano distributed multiple videos that contained CSAM. On July 14 and August 2, 2024, Mangano received videos that contained CSAM. Finally, on August 15, 2024, Mangano possessed CSAM material that involved a young child and a child who had not attained 12 years of age.
This Central Florida case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson.
This is another case brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue child victims.
