Central Florida Woman Arrested for Leaving Four-Month-Old in Car

A Central Florida woman was arrested for leaving a four-month-old baby inside a car while the engine was off, for up to six hours.

On March 12, 2023, at approximately 2:48pm, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Spectrum, located at 4145 South Falkenburg Road in Riverview, regarding an infant locked inside a vehicle that was not running.

Through investigative means, deputies learned that 26-year-old Aisha Morrow encountered childcare issues. She alleged she picked up the baby during her lunch break and left the child inside the car. Deputies are investigating the length of time the baby was in the car, which could have been up to six hours.

The infant was transported to Tampa General Hospital and did not sustain any injuries.

“This woman’s actions are reprehensible, and this situation could have ended tragically; I am thankful that the witnesses alerted our deputies, resulting in the baby being rescued,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community remains steadfast, and we will continue to pursue justice for those who endanger the welfare of children.”

Aisha Morrow was arrested and is facing one charge of Child Neglect.

Before this investigation, Morrow was arrested in 2023 by the Tampa Police Department and was charged with one count of Child Neglect and one count of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon.

This is an ongoing investigation, according to local law enforcement.
