Central Florida Urban League Hosts Final Debate Watch Party

In an effort to educate and impact the Central Florida community, the Central Florida Urban League Young Professionals held a watch party for the final presidential debate this past week at Draft Lounge in downtown Orlando.

More than 70 people showed up to watch President Obama square off against former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney on the subject of foreign policy. The two men sparred over Libya, Afghanistan, and how foreign policy impacts America’s economy.

The group of young professionals gathered to further educate themselves on both candidates, to fellowship, and to just talk politics. Outside of the debate, some of the chatter in the room centered on the importance of voting, getting more people out to the polls on Election Day, and staying engaged post the sixth of November.

The Central Florida Urban League Young Professionals, or CFULYP, have hosted debate watch parties for all four presidential discussions, including the wildly entertaining vice presidential debate that featured Congressman Paul Ryan and Vice President Joe Biden.

As we inch closer to Election Day, CFULYP will continue to play an active role in keeping Central Florida politically engaged and informed.
