The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from Florida Highway Patrol, has taken a 25-year-old Central Florida felony burglary suspect into custody after he attempted to ram deputies with his vehicle. A 20-year-old female passenger was also arrested.
On May 21st, at 9:38pm, HCSO’s District 4 Street Crimes Unit requested assistance from our K9 Unit to arrest 25-year-old Dylan Airhart on occupied burglary and felony theft charges.
Airhart then fled from the scene near Nundy Avenue and 41 Highway South, at which point our Street Crimes Unit deployed stop sticks. At this time, the suspect intentionally drove off the road in an attempt to run over our deputies.
FHP had been called in to assist, and they successfully enacted a PIT maneuver that flipped the suspect vehicle on its side. Our K9 Unit and deputies moved in and found 20-year-old Victoria Ramey, an additional suspect in the vehicle’s passenger seat.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Airhart is facing the following charges:
- Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer with a Deadly Weapon x5
- Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement Officer with Intent to Commit a Felony with a Weapon
- Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling
- Felony Petit Theft
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Aggravated Fleeing to Elude x2
- Driving While License Revoked – Habitual Offender
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
Ramey is facing charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of 5 or more Personal Identification of Another.

The suspect’s reckless attempts to run over our deputies were horrifying and unacceptable, and we will not tolerate these types of actions,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I am deeply thankful for the collaboration with Florida Highway Patrol, whose assistance was vital in arresting this dangerous individual.”
No HCSO deputies or FHP troopers were injured during this incident.
