Central Florida Student, 11, Charged in School Shooting Hoax, Mom’s Boyfriend Arrested

An 11-year-old Central Florida student was charged in a school shooting hoax, and his mom’s boyfriend was also arrested for obstructing police officers.

The young student, Gavinn Carter, submitted a FortifyFL tip threatening a shooting at Silver Sands Middle School in Volusia County.

His mother’s boyfriend, 27-year-old Christopher Cord-Robertson, was also arrested for obstructing Daytona Beach police officers, according to local law enforcement.

There are no jokes when it comes to threats of violence or school shootings, and law enforcement is making sure kids understand that with serious charges.

As a deterrent, the Volusia County Sheriff has been publicizing the arrests and the students being taken into custody.
