Central Florida School Custodian Arrested for Sexual Offenses

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a custodian at Bevis Elementary School for committing numerous sexual offenses against a juvenile.

“I am disgusted by these actions, and we will ensure that this victim receives the support they deserve,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister.

On December 6th, detectives arrested 24-year-old Jonathan Martinez Casillas for his involvement in sexual acts against a juvenile victim that took place between March 2018 and June 2018.

“Our detectives’ determination to remove any threat to the safety of our community’s most vulnerable remains steadfast,” Sheriff Chronister continued. “The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work relentlessly to protect our community from the disgusting actions of these criminals who think they can prey on juveniles.”

At this point in the investigation, HCSO does not have reason to believe that any children at the school were victimized. Jonathan Martinez Casillas has been employed by Bevis Elementary School, which is near Tampa, since September 2019.

While this incident took place in 2018, it was just recently brought to local law enforcement. Additionally, Hillsborough County Schools was not aware of the incident upon his hiring.

This is still an active investigation. Anyone with information on this case, or if someone believes they may have been a victim of Jonathan Martinez Casillas, please call HCSO at 813-247-8200.
