Central Florida Mother Indicted for First Degree Murder in Death of Child

A Central Florida mother has been formally indicted for the murder of a child.

An Osceola County grand jury formally indicted 38-year-old Jasmin Kennedy for First Degree Murder, State Attorney Andrew Bain’s office recently announced.

On August 21, 2023, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a deceased child at a St. Cloud home. An investigation was conducted and the child’s death was ruled a homicide.

Kennedy was identified as a suspect and arrested.

The State presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure a premeditated First Degree Murder indictment against Kennedy.

According to local law enforcement, the mother admitted to first responders and deputies on the scene that she had choked and killed her son.
