The Florida Lottery recently announced that Jason Henderson, of Chuluota, claimed a $1 million top prize from The Price Is Right scratch-off game at Lottery’s Headquarters in Tallahassee.
The Central Florida winner chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.00.
The Seminole County man purchased his winning ticket from MJM Food Store, located at 670 South County Road 419 in Chuluota. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
The $5 scratch-off game, THE PRICE IS RIGHT™, offers eight top prizes of $1 million. With more than $79 million in total cash prizes, this game also features more than 5.5 million winning tickets.
The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.00. On the Florida Lottery site, it states there are still multiple $1 million prizes remaining, along with many other prizes in smaller amounts like $50,000 or $10,000 and below.
Scratch-off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024. Since their inception, scratch-off games have awarded more than $63.1 billion in prizes, created 2,175 millionaires, and generated more than $19.24 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
