A Central Florida man was indicted for murder for shooting his girlfriend.
Brevard County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the victim, 28-year-old Lendzi Lakeman, dead of multiple gunshot wounds inside a house on Carlowe Avenue. A 911 caller reported hearing three shots and then seeing Bellinger fire more shots inside the house’s open garage before watching the shooter drive off in a blue Kia car.
Deputies later arrested Tyjah Bellinger at a family member’s home in Port St. John.
The Brevard County grand jury recently indicted 23-year-old Tyjah John Bellinger for first-degree murder for the shooting death of his girlfriend in Port St. John.
According to authorities, Bellinger had been in a relationship with Lakeman.
The State Attorney’s office said Bellinger had an AR-style pistol, which he fired 12 times. Crime scene investigators found three shell casings in the driveway and seven more in the garage, indicating multiple shots fired from different locations.
According to the State Attorney’s office, Bellinger told a relative that he had the firearm, tripped, and the gun went off one time. The firearm was found in Bellinger’s car at the relative’s house.
Bellinger was held without bond in the Brevard County Jail.
