A Central Florida man was found between two boats in a sad accident at a dock.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s office confirmed a 75-year-old DeBary man drowned after getting caught on a rope and falling into the water as he prepared to go boating.
Deputies recently responded to Sher Lane after someone found the victim’s body in the water between two boats. The victim’s left leg was wrapped around a rope that was being used to secure the boat to the dock, according to local law enforcement.
The victim was identified as Jerry Capo, of DeBary. Capo’s son arrived on scene and said he and his dad were planning to go out on the boat.
There were no signs of foul play during the investigation, and it was determined the incident was accidental in nature, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office sent sincere condolences to Jerry’s loved ones.
