Central Florida Man Claimed $1 Million Prize from Scratch-Off

The Florida Lottery announced that Wendell Jackson, of Hillsborough County, claimed a $1 million prize from the 500X The Cash scratch-off game.




The Central Florida man chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

The Thonotosassa winner purchased his winning ticket from 301 Petrol Mart, located at 11511 U.S. Highway 301 N. in Thonotosassa near Tampa.

He claimed his winning prize at lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

The $50 500X The Cash scratch-off game offers a chance to win big, featuring a top prize of $25 million. There is one top prize remaining and 39 $1 million prizes remaining according to the Florida Lottery.

With over $1.66 billion in total cash prizes available and overall odds of 1-in-4.23, it’s one of the most exciting opportunities to score an instant win.

Scratch-off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024. Additionally, since inception, scratch-off games have awarded more than $70.8 billion in prizes, created 2,475 millionaires, and generated more than $20.98 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
