A Central Florida man was busted for drug trafficking.
After a one-day trial this month, a Volusia County jury found defendant Oscar Torres guilty as charged of Trafficking in Fentanyl (4 grams to 14 grams), Trafficking in Phenethylamines (10 – 200 grams), Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Immediately following the verdict, Torres was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
He will also be required to pay a $107,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the DeLand Police Department.
Assistant State Attorneys Daniel Megaro and Elba Roman-Pacheco successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Margaret Hudson presided over the case and pronounced sentence.
