The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation surrounding the death of a Central Florida inmate.
An inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa was discovered unresponsive by staff on July 4th, just after 8:30pm.
According to officials, the inmate was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Preliminarily, it appears the inmate suffered a medical incident.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said at the time that the inmate’s identification will be provided once the Next of Kin notification has been completed.
The investigation is ongoing, according to local law enforcement.
