A recent Central Florida inmate death did not appear suspicious in nature according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office.
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating the death of 52-year-old James Bernard Brady.
Detectives said Brady was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on December 11, 2025 by the Clearwater Police Department for Driving Under the Influence, Refusal to Submit to Testing, Possession of Powder Cocaine, and two counts of Violation of Probation.
On December 30, 2025, Brady was found suffering from a medical emergency in his cell and life saving measures were performed by staff. Brady was transported to the hospital where life saving measures were continued, according to law enforcement. However, Brady was pronounced deceased at 11:58am.
In one update on the investigation, detectives said they had found no evidence that Brady was involved in any physical altercations while incarcerated at the jail.
Brady’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation continues, according to local law enforcement’s last update.
