Several DeLand-area drug dealers were taken into custody this month during a warrant round-up stemming from ongoing investigations into sales of cocaine and fentanyl.
The Central Florida effort began with a narcotics search warrant on Clara Avenue and concluded with 11 arrests, plus six defendants already in custody on other charges.
Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood commended the excellent work by all involved in the operation and several other ongoing investigations, with more results coming in the future.
According to local law enforcement, the Central Florida defendants and their charges are:
• DeSean Gillislee: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a park, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of cannabis, possession of paraphernalia, violation of probation (No bond)
• Shane Bailey: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a convenience store, sale/delivery of fentanyl within 1000’ of a convenience store, sale/delivery of fentanyl within 1000’ of an assisted living facility ($150,000 bond)
• Albert Williams: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of convenience store, possession of paraphernalia ($5,500 bond)
• Ontarious Campbell: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a conveyance store, possession of crack cocaine ($7,500 bond)
• Michael McCarty: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a church ($100,000 bond)
• Thaddeus Hill: Sale/delivery of crack cocaine within 1000’ of a Church ($50,000 bond)
• Eric Knight: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a convenience store, sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a convenience store ($100,000 bond)
• Stefon Duncan: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a church ($100,000 bond)
• Brian Ford: Sale/delivery of fentanyl within 1000’ of a school, possession of paraphernalia ($100,500 bond)
• Randy Thomas: Possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia ($3,000 bond)
• Montrell Stafford: Resisting arrest without violence ($500 bond)
• Randy Barkley: Sale/possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1000’ of a school/child care facility ($100,000 bond)
Those already in custody were:
• Cameron Ford: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a school
• Gregory Hill: Sale/delivery of cocaine within’ 1000’ of a convenience store
• Lorenzo Feaster: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a convenience store
• Maurice Jones: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a convenience store
• Keyonte Grimes: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a school
• Mareo Williams: Sale/delivery of cocaine within 1000’ of a convenience store
An additional eight defendants also had active warrants out for their arrest.
The round-up was a joint effort involving members of the West Volusia Narcotics Task Force, Deltona Narcotics Enforcement Team, Volusia Bureau of Investigation, VSO’s Crime Suppression Teams and Overdose Task Force, and the DeLand Police Department.
