Central Florida Deputy Arrested after Investigation

A Central Florida deputy was arrested after an investigation.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested for stalking.

39-year-old Deputy Andrew Brown, assigned to the Department of Patrol Services, was arrested after detectives conducted an investigation following reports of misconduct.

According to law enforcement, Deputy Brown conducted a traffic stop on the victim and obtained her phone number. Following the traffic stop, Brown sent the victim continuous unwanted messages, even after being blocked.

Brown faced one charge of Stalking.

He was employed with HCSO for nine months. He was suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal and administrative investigation, according to HCSO.

“When someone puts on our uniform, they take on a responsibility to serve with integrity. The badge is a symbol of trust, and this deputy betrayed that trust,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “That is a violation of everything HCSO stands for, and it makes me furious. We will hold him accountable, just as we would anyone else who breaks the law.”
