A Central Florida convicted felon is going back to jail after being arrested with a gun, ammunition, and drugs.
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office Deltona Crime Suppression Team received intelligence that convicted felon Jacob Davis was driving around with a firearm, a violation of his probation, and would have a shootout with law enforcement before he would go back to prison.
Around 3:15pm that day, a deputy pulled over Davis for traffic violations. Davis got out of the truck and the deputy detained him in handcuffs without incident.
A pat down of Davis revealed an empty holster, a knife, and two loaded .45 caliber magazines in his pockets. Law enforcement said through his open driver’s door, a loaded .45 caliber 1911 handgun was visible under the driver’s seat.
A K-9 alerted to narcotics in the vehicle. During a search, deputies found a magnetic box under the steering wheel containing methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
Deputies also found 113 rounds of live ammunition and about 100 rounds of spent ammunition.
Davis was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation, with no bond.
Davis was previously released from prison in April 2023 after serving about five years for multiple burglaries in Volusia County. Deltona detectives also responded to the scene of the recent arrest to interview him about his vehicle and trailer being captured on camera during a recent burglary.
Soooo Law Enforcement received a tip that he was riding around w/a firearm…then they conveniently were able to pull him over for traffic infractions…just reaffirms that supposed traffic infractions is what the use to justify a stop…
