Central Florida Burglary Suspect Arrested

A Central Florida burglary suspect was arrested after a rapid police response.




The Kissimmee Police Department recently received a report of suspicious activity was at a local pharmacy after a citizen called 911 to report activity in the area.

With the collaboration of multiple units, including our patrol officers, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division, Intelligence Unit, and TAC Units, along with the deployment of a KPD drone and assistance from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office TAC Unit, the suspect was quickly located and detained.

The coordinated efforts of responding officers and investigative work led to multiple charges being filed.

The suspect was identified as Jean Carlos Hernandez Mejia. He was charged with: Burglary to an unoccupied structure, Criminal Mischief, Petit Theft, and Violation of Probation.

Law enforcement said this Central Florida case highlights the strength of collaboration between units, agencies, rapid response, and strong investigative work.
