When he was growing up, Peter M. Gordon never thought of himself as a writer. “I worked in theatre and television but as a director, producer, and head of programming,” Gordon said. “I moved to Orlando 18 years ago to become Golf Channel’s first Director of Programming. Then four years ago I sat down to write an essay and a poem popped out instead.”

CHB Media, a Central Florida publisher of several poetry books and novels, released Gordon’s first book of poetry, “Two Car Garage.” Publisher Gary Broughman had previously published Gordon’s work in two anthologies of Central Florida poets, “Poetry to Feed the Spirit” and “Love and Other Passions.” Broughman said, “Peter’s work deserved its own book. The poems of ‘Two Car Garage’ celebrate the romance of mystery of everyday life and prove that the artistic heart will thrive wherever imagination is at work.”

The book’s poems represent the best of Gordon’s last four years, and include the poem that started him on poetry, “The Best Advice,” along with other work published by a variety of online and print magazines. The topics range from magical moments with Greek gods in one’s backyard , a tribute to a friend gone too soon, how poetry is like baseball “Night Game,” and the sublime mystery found in a midnight walk with a dog.

Gordon reads his work at a variety of venues around town both as a solo and a member of the Orlando Poetry Ensemble. When not writing poetry, as a freelance writer he contributes to several publications, including West Orlando News Online, and works as a television programming consultant.

“Two Car Garage is currently available online at amazon.com, bn.com, and other online sites in paperback for $9.99. It is also formatted for the kindle and other electronic devices.
