Caught: Nima Moradi: Suspect in Stabbing Death

Nima Moradi - suspect

Nima Nash Moradi, the man suspected of stabbing to death Richard Luyo, eight days ago, is now in custody.

Moradi was arrested in Tallahassee, around 9:00 a.m. on Friday, by the United States Marshals Service and agents of FDLE.

Agents of the Orange County’s Office Felony Squad successfully tracked Moradi, determined his whereabouts and provided the information to federal and state officials.

Investigators say, Moradi, 21, stabbed Richard Luyo to death, after a fight broke out between the two men in the upscale Brentwood Club subdivision in Bay Hill.

Luyo died from his injuries on February 13, at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Shortly after Luyo was stabbed on February 9, a warrant was put out for Moradi’s arrest for second degree murder.

It is not known when Moradi would be extradicted to Orange County to stand trial.

  1. Pj – I would guess that that is because you sell drugs. In this country you have the same amount of right to sell drugs, as someone does to rob you. If you choose to sell drugs – there is collateral. Also, it is wrong to bring your kid on a drug deal. Ill reserve judgement, but to me that is the worst part of this whole story. Everything else is just the dangers of the drug game played out in real form. But you can’t be putting kids in these types of situations… Sad story.

  2. That last statement, although spot-on, sounded insensitive to the victim and his family. I am sorry for their loss and pray for them a strong recovery.

  3. Actually it was in the parking lot of panera… and I dont sell drugs, do drug or have anything to do with that. He just thought it would be funny to show it off and had a laser pointer on it and pointed it in the middle of my forehead.

  4. oh please that is such crap. nima is a good person and although he has made some mistakes, this being a very large one that doesn’t change the fact that the people who love him still love him. sho shut the hell up and have some respect for what him and his family are going through as well

  5. a good person? a killer is not a good person at all and why have respect for a killer? Nima will suffer greatly and I am here to support that.

  6. Good person? A good person is someone who had the guts to stab someone 34 times? He is a coward. Nima Nash Moradi is a monster and I sincerely hope he ROTS in jail for what he did. He took a 5 yrs old’s father away and stole all opportunities from the child of having a father while growing up.

  7. this kid always came to partys and beat people for no reason he was an ignorant one………. he knew what was coming this should be a lesson to the wanna be gangsters i remember kids thought this kid was cool in highschool……. he just robbed sold drugs and beat people for nothing just because he felt like it…….. and now he kills someone…… a good person??? pleaase

  8. John McJohnson, please don’t make statements such as Ricky bringing his son on a drug deal. Ricky didn’t do drugs and he was an amazing father to his 5 year old son. He did business on the side selling cell phone products and you shouldn’t be going around making him out to be some kind of drug dealer. I knew Ricky ever since high school and knew him and his wife ever since they were together. He was a great man, not some drug dealer so please don’t taint his name like that. Thank you.

  9. john: before you go ahead & assume that it was a drug deal, please get your facts straight! as for “bitch” REALLY? are you kidding me? nima a good person? pftttt BITCH PLEASE! he stabbed ricky 34 times in front of his son. ricky is like 5’5″ & nima was supposedly over 6ft tall. really? not only did he stab him 34times but he proceeded to beat the crap out of ricky in front of his son! nima is a monster that deserves to die a slow agonizing death! if you think that’s he’s still a good person after knowing he murdered someones husband, father, brother & son. then there’s something seriously wrong with you. yeah, let me come stab you 34times & watch you die, im sure
i’ll still be considered a “good” person. yeah you’re an IDIOT BITCH!

  10. CM85. I said hold my judgement, but I guess I made him guilty by association. That stuff is usually what creates this type of violence. I have no idea what happened and I should not be considered a news source. Not that it mattered if he messed with drugs or not, nobody should have these things happen to them.

  11. If you really think this monster is a good person, you are so messed up in the head just like he is. Family or not. Ricky was not drug dealing…so stop ASSUMING. He sold and bought phones. Do not say he brought his kid into a drug deal. NO. He was a genuinely good father and husband. UNLIKE this freaking monster Nima guy who decided to kill an innocent guy in front of his 5 year old. I pray every night that he spend the rest of his life in a tiny jail cell. I hope he rots in there. Oh and funny how his family is rich and yet he robbed many people and pretended to be a thug…what a psycho low life.

    RIP ricky.

  12. Sam, point well made. I just have no idea why he would be there at such a dangerous person’s house… That is all. He was in his garage. Chances are none of us know, and so I’m not sure you guys should be so confident that I am wrong.

  13. If this Ricky was there to buy and sell phones, and got cornered then I apologize for assuming. That is awful and yes he is fucked in the head, just like most Iranians out there.

  14. People need to stop saying that Nima’s family has money bc they don’t. If they had money they wouldn’t be asking to borrow from someone I know bc they can’t afford a lawyer. Looks like Nima might have to settle for a public defender. I mean his mother drives a PT Cruiser…..I don’t know where people are getting the idea that they have money. The Moradi family is as trashy and pathetic as they come. I was embarrassed to say I knew the family before Nima selfishly took the life of a young father from his boy……this poor boy is probably going to have emotional and psychological problems for the rest of his life, losing a parent at a young age is hard but watching them being murdered, I can only imagine. The Luyo family is in my prayers

  15. Richard was stabbed 3 times. This had nothing to do with drugs. I never knew Nami but by the looks of it, he was a violent guy. Whatever the reason he did it for, still does NOT JUSTIFY KILLING ANY HUMAN BEING. Whether it was out of anger, drugs, or hatred, NOTHING GIVES A PERSON A RIGHT TO MURDER SOMEONE, ESPECIALLY IN FRONT OF THEIR 5 YEAR OLD KID.

HE NEEDS TO BE PUT TO JAIL FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE FOR THE SAKE OF OTHER PEOPLES LIFE THAT COULD BE IN DANGER. DONT SIT THERE AND TRY TO DEFEND HIM. IF YOU LOST A LOVED ONE, YOU WOULD WANT THEIR KILLER TO GET THEIR PUNISHMENT.

There is a little boy that needs to live the rest of his life without his father, a wife left to raise a son alone and families grieving over what this guy did. so quit the ignorant comments. it ALL is hurtful and disrespectful.

  16. First of all, buying and selling phones sounds like a front for selling drugs. Whatever happened to the idea of being innocent until proven guilty? I guess since he killed someone and there were witnesses people are calling him a “monster”. I will stand by Nima Moradi’s side until he is proven guilty for murder.

  17. I know that is sounds very bias, but I have known him and the family for years and he is not someone to cause harm to anyone or anything for no reason. There MUST have been a reason he did such a thing.

  18. Seriously if Nima was “innocent” then why the hell did he flee the scene and to add to that… The state?! If you really think he was innocent then answer that… You’re a dumb fuck for being naive.

  19. Seriously what’s the logic of him being at Nima’s house? There must have been something going on and you are ignorant for saying that he fled the state because he was found in Tallahassee. Murder does not solve any problems in ANY case but he should not be deemed a “monster” until the true story is proven in court. He was confronted at his PARENT’S house. He was obviously confronted and felt threatened and took a course of action that was not appropriate.

PS look at his mugshot, he was obviously hit in the face and that has not been shown in ANY news articles yet.

  20. You’re an idiot. I stand corrected… He “tried” to flee the state or else he wouldn’t have been in Tallahassee. If he was so innocent then don’t you think that HE would’ve been the one to call the cops instead of leaving? Yup.. Once again you’re naive for thinking this monster is innocent. I know he sold sell phones because he’s sold one to me so shut the fuck up

  21. Ive known Nima for 8 years… I played football with him and was good friends with him, Nima would never harm someone for the hell of it. This so called monster has a heart and wouldnt do anything like this unless he felt threatened… I mean why would this guy come over to sell a phone to Nima at his house? You guys can talk all the shit that you want but I believe Nima is innocent. WTF you guys sayin he was stabbed 32 times bitch please ain’t nobody gonna sit there and continue to stab someone and waste there time… You guys all have no life so please go fuck yourselves!!!

  22. to PRIVATE – you must not have a life either to go through all of these comments. there are people here who has claimed they knew him and/or have been abused/robbed by him. there were witnesses there who saw ricky run away for help. he got in his car with his son to get away from nima, but nima proceeded to go after him and continued beating him in the car. ricky sells phones on craigslist, are you too stupid to comprehend that? and if he was so innocent, why did his idiot sister pick him up after he stabbed Ricky? so he could flee to tallahassee? that bitch should go to jail too. justice will prevail and your awesome friend nima nash moradi will rot in jail.

  23. There has been records and countless of witnesses who were victims of robbery due to Nima. Some held at gun point. Nima may have seemed sweet to some people, but he is a sick person. He has another side to him that is evil. If Nima was confronted and felt threatened at his home, then he must’ve ran inside and grab a knife and stabbed the victim, right? BUT WRONG. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. because one, the incident occurred outside the home. Two, the knife was already with him inside the garage. Three, after he proceeded to stab the victim multiple of times.. he then ran after him inside the victims car where his SON SAT INNOCENTLY IN THE BACK SEAT AND PROCEEDED TO PUNCH AND CHOKE THE VICTIM TO THE GROUND IN FRONT OF HIS SON AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND DRAG THE VICTIM. so if anyone was threatened… IT WAS NOT NIMA.

Nima is 6 foot. The victim under 5″7. Really? Nima was threatened by a innocent man who was trying to make a living for his family with his 5 year old kid? THINK PEOPLE.

also there was no drugs on the scene. but there was drugs alright.. IN NIMA’s SYSTEM. mugshot proves dilated eyes.

there was witnesses everywhere. none of them saying that Nima was asking for help. becus HE WASNT THE ONE BEING HURT.

HE IS A SICK SICK SICK PERSON. HE WILL GET LIFE IN PRISON… WITHOUT BAIL! HAHAHAHAHA

  24. I was taught by my God And Religion to Love my enemies. This pushed it to an extreme I Never Knew. Ricky, a self-less and harmless bro, close friend, victim to someone that took Hip-Hip more serious than Reality. I Don’t wish the worst upon Nima, Because he brought that to himself and what’s to come. The page has turned. The tracks said “Kill a Nigga”, Nima heard and listened. Nima’s Logic is as flawed as they come; Admiration and loyalty to anothers message without his own discretion with apparently little to no objection… Nima is as “Hard” as the Inmates up his ass now… Now who’s “Hardcore”? I’m not going to wish anything upon Nima as that is not up to me or “Us”. The Universe is balanced and in the end this turned out to be a lose/lose for everyone and a lesson to be learned , and/or a wakeup call to the youth. Peace to all and recognition the Balance and rectification the Divine brings to these grounds on and off this earth. PEACE.

  25. I knew ricky briefly before he was murdered, and he by no means came off as a drug dealer, fighter nor an aggressive person. i met him through a craigslist ad to sell iphones and since december i kept in contact w him selling him phones as recently as the day before he was murdered. The only reason im even writing on here is because of some of the ignorant comments im reading about him selling drugs. I admit i didnt know him well but from the few times i met with him he was a pretty up-frontt guy and not once did he come off as some shady person. to be fair its not right to judge this nima guy BUT hes a stark contrast of the type of person ricky is, and if you need proof that this guy is a no-good thug, take a look at his myspace page and read some of the things this guy says.

  26. I was in maximum security and Nima was my cell-mate. He had a smart ass mouth, and talked to people like he was better than them because he had money. I read people very well, and he had a good heart. Sometimes ordinary people are put in extraordinary situations. Leave the judging to God.

  27. Ricky You Were A Great Friend, Co Worker, Father, Daddy, Son, And A Great Husband To Your Wife Crisseel. May God Bring Justice To The One Who Took You Away!! We Loved You

  28. For tje last four years nima hs helped to set the xmas decortions for mall of millenia….sure sounds like a monster….just sayin

  29. I knew Ricky very well in high school, and although we lost touch except for a brief FB message convo about buying an iPhone. He brightened my days and was the sweetest guy I ever met! Criselle was one of my best friends in high school, and wherever she is She is always in my thoughts! RIP dear friend, I just wish I knew sooner.

  30. Nima fucked up. But he was there for me when no one else was. He was like a brother to me. He respected everyone and I know that at the time this horrible event occurred Nima was going through a lot of emotional issues in his home amongst other things. He was like robin hood stealing from the rich giving to the poor during these Craigslist phases but I can GUARUNTEE you he killed this man in self defense. Nima would never take the life of another intentionally. And he adored children and I am positive he did not know the child was in the car.

“That is awful and yes he is fucked in the head, just like most Iranians out there.”
Not only it sounds racist but ignorant as well. Learn to know the difference between a Sand Nigger like Nima and an Iranian. By all means what actions he had done it makes him into a Sand Nigger.

“That is awful and yes he is fucked in the head, just like ALL THE SAND NIGGERS out there.”
    now thats more like it

  32. I am a full supporter of the death sentence for this kid. Was robbed once by him, he doesn’t deserve to live

  35. People’s actions arent what determines who they are it’s the heart of the person

  36. This piece of shit has not broken into one of his nneighbors houses. WTF. get this little thug out of OUR neighborhood and in jail where he belongs. Don’t bring his ass back here. No one wants him here. GTFO
