The Florida House of Representatives is urging Caribbean and other residents of the Sunshine state to join their `Caribbean Day` celebration this Wednesday.
The event is set for Wednesday, April 15 between 10 a.m. and noon in the House Chambers of The Capitol building in Tallahassee.
It is being presented by members: Jamaican-born Hazelle Rogers (D-Lauderhill), Oscar Braynon, (D-Miami Gardens), Ronald Brise (D-North Miami), Dwight Bullard (D-Miami), Jennifer Carroll (R-Jacksonville), Gwyn Clarke-Reed (D-Pompano Beach), Yolly Roberson (D-North Miami Beach) and Perry Thurston (D-Ft. Lauderdale).
`As a freshman legislator serving in the Florida House of Representatives and its first Jamaican,` Representative Rogers said, `It is an honor and a distinct privilege to join my colleagues representing the islands of Bahamas, Haiti and Trinidad & Tobago born Representative Jennifer Carroll for this day of celebration.
