Thousands turned to celebrate Caribbean American Heritage Month on Sunday at Lake Eola and were treated to a wide array of culinary delights and music styles of Soca, Reggae, Calypso, Zouk and more.
Family and friends who attended the free festival, experienced various cultural performances which included LIVE Tassa drumming, Steel band music, Indian dancers performing chutney, bollywood and traditional dance, along with other presentations representative of islands such as, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Haiti and the Bahamas.
Most indulged in Caribbean fare which included curried goat, jerk pork and chicken, callaloo, rice and peas and ackee and salt fish. And those 21 and older got to sample the many beers of the Caribbean, namely, Prestige, Kalik, Red Stripe, Banks, Carib and Presidente.
The festivities also included a Kiddies Carnival Parade and a Junk-a-noo Parade.
