CAPTURED: Dougherty Gang

Ryan Dougherty (l) Lee Grace (c) Dylan Dougherty Stanley

The Dougherty siblings that have been on the run since August 2, were captured on Wednesday, the FBI said.

21-year-old Ryan Edward Dougherty, 26-year-old Dylan Dougherty Stanley, and 29-year-old Lee Grace E. Dougherty, were taken into custody after their vehicle crashed near Walsenburg, Colorado, but not before a high-speed chase with law enforcement.

After a 20-mile pursuit, with speeds of up to 100 miles per hour and in which shots were fired, the three were apprehended. There are news reports that Lee Grace was shot in the leg. One of the brothers tried to escape after the crash, but he was taken into custody shortly after at a nearby motel.

A nationwide manhunt was launced for the three siblings, wanted for attempted murder of a Florida police officer and a Georgia armed bank robbery.

The three siblings took a Zephyrills patrol officer on a wild pursuit around 7:00 a.m., on August 2, during which they opened fire, disabling the patrol car. Multiple calibers were used. That same day, police believe that the three suspects, held up and robbed at gunpoint, a Certus Bank in Valdosta, Georgia, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Since then the trio had been on the run from law enforcement.

It is believed that the crime spree started after Ryan removed an electronic device from his person and failed to register as a sexual offender in Pasco County, Florida.

The siblings are being held in a Colorado jail.
