The Florida Lottery announced that Darren Martini, of Cape Coral, claimed the $41 million FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
The Lee County man chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $24,559,932.33.
Martini purchased his jackpot-winning FLORIDA LOTTO Quick Pick ticket from Publix, located at 3015 Pine Island Road Southwest in Cape Coral. The retailer will receive a bonus commission of $100,000 for selling the winning ticket.
The huge jackpot was from the drawing held on December 24, 2022.
Recently, there have been many millionaire winners around Florida, including a Palm Beach County resident, and a St. Lucie County resident. A Hendry County resident recently won $1,000 a week for life. A Polk County resident from Lakeland won $2 million from a scratch-off, and a Miami-Dade County resident won $1 million.
Other scratch-off lottery recent winners include a Volusia County resident from DeLand, a Lake County resident from Groveland, another Lake County man from Astatula, a Seminole County resident from Longwood, another Seminole County resident from Sanford, an Osceola County resident from Kissimmee, a Santa Rosa County resident from Navarre, another Volusia County resident from DeLand, a Broward County resident from Oakland Park, and a St. Lucie County resident from Ft. Pierce.
Another Kissimmee resident won $2 million playing Powerball. A Riviera Beach resident also recently won $4 million playing Mega Millions.
