Call to Artists: Celebrating Black History in Town of Oakland

The Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland invites all adult/youth artists to submit 2D + 3D art including multimedia, pottery, sculpture, and more for the annual Black History Month art exhibition inspired by Black culture and/or art created by Black artists.




Please submit the following information via email:

  1. Artist name and contact info
  2. Title
  3. Medium
  4. Size
  5. Sale price
  6. Photo

Officials said artists are free to submit as many pieces as you wish. The submission deadline is January 19th. If artwork is accepted, the drop off will be between January 24th-26th.

Exhibition will be on display January 28th through March 15th at the Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland.

A QR code will be placed next to your artwork if you wish to allow it to be for sale linking to your website or other method of sale. When a piece is sold while on exhibit, the artist will receive 100% of the sale but must agree to keep it on display until the exhibition ends.

Officials said 2D artwork must be able to be hung on the wall with the gallery hook system. Photography/other mediums are also encouraged.

The artists are responsible for insuring their artwork. Artists must sign a liability agreement upon acceptance of the artwork.
