Canadian police are searching for the killer of a popular Jamaican-born DJ, who was stabbed to death early Monday morning over what they believe might be musical issues.
According to police, the victim is DJ Blacka Ranxx and it is believed that he got into a fight with another man at the the Penbrooke Meadows Community Association, in Calgary, where he was playing at a dinner and dance wind-up for a domino tournament.
Police say, the victim and suspect they are seeking “are acquaintances … the suspect is part of that musical culture.”
Police say over 30 people have been interviewed in relation to this incident, but they believe that there were other people at the function who could have additional information.
Ranxx’s friends are calling for peace around a city dance party scene they say has turned ugly.
The Jamaican Community is raising funds to send Ranxx’s body back to his home country.
