A passenger who had a cab driver take him to a Wal-mart on Turkey Lake Road and then to a shopping plaza, car jacked the driver and robbed him at gunpoint on Sand Lake Road.
Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said that around 12:14 pm, today, November 16, a cab driver picked up a white male in his 40s at an unknown location on Mills Avenue. The driver took the suspect to the Wal-mart at 8990 Turkey Lake Road. From there the suspect requested to be driven to a shopping plaza in the 7500 block of Sand Lake Road. Upon arrival the suspect produced a handgun, robbed the cab driver of money and then fled the scene in the cab. After being robbed the cab driver, who was not injured, went to the Stein Mart at 7506 Dr. Phillips Boulevard and reported the incident.
At approximately 12:30 PM the cab was located at an office complex at 7380 West Sand Lake Road (behind a Barnes and Nobel).
The suspect is reported to be a white male, 40’s, dark gray, tinted hair with a mustache. He was wearing a light colored shirt, long khaki pants, and is armed with a semi-automatic handgun. To date, the suspect remains at large.
