A traffic stop of two men returning from South Florida on Sunday, turned up thousands of prescription pills valued at nearly $70,000.

Damiana Alvarado and Ramon Aguilar-Hernandez were arrested yesterday for trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, Pasco Sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies stopped the silver 2007 Honda vehicle Alvarado and Aguilar-Hernandez were traveling in based on probable cause.

Deputies said, a search of the vehicle yielded 3,280 Oxycodone pills (approx. 393 grams) and 1,413 Alprazolam pills (approx. 280 grams), valued at close to $70,000.

The majority of the pills were sold and consumed in west Pasco County, deputies said.
