A Tampa judge on Thursday offered Buju Banton bail, but the Reggae superstar will have to wait a little longer before he can return to his home.
jamaicaobserver.com: Banton will not be immediately released as his lead attorney, David Oscar Markus, will now have to seek bond in the immigration court to prevent his deportation to Jamaica. Banton’s entertainment visa was revoked after he was arrested at his home last December.
Marc Seitles, one of Banton’s lawyers, said the artiste was looking forward to going home, having spent 10 months behind bars.
Late last month, jurors on two occasions were unable to reach a verdict in the Banton’s cocaine trial and a mistrial was declared by Judge James Moody.
Banton’s new trial is set to commence in December.
