Bucs Corner: Tampa Bay Signs Former Cowboys Receiver

The Bucs have started the NFL free agency period with a… tap? On Thursday, Tampa inked former Cowboys slot receiver Kevin Ogletree to a one-year deal.

In his last season with the Cowboys last year, Ogletree bagged career numbers. He caught 32 catches for 436 yards and four touchdowns. Even with his amplified numbers, the Cowboys thought that it was ok to allow Ogletree to walk due to his inconsistency on the field.

In the first game of 2012 against the Giants, Ogletree caught eight passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns. After that, he only stepped into the end zone one time and logged multiple games with just one catch.

By joining the Bucs, Ogletree will compete with current slot man Tiquan Underwood. He’ll also have a chance to make his mark on special teams if he makes it through training camp.
