One of Broadway’s most popular and most successful plays is making a return engagement to Central Florida. WICKED will be in Orlando between February 20th through March 8th at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center.
Winner of 35 major awards, including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz and an entirely new adventure begins as these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
Orlando Broadway adds, “Fun for the whole family, Wicked is a tale about love, friendship and trust that reveals that there are two sides to every story.”
Declared the “Best Musical of the Decade” by Entertainment Weekly and “a Cultural Phenomenon” by Variety, WICKED is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman.
In Orlando, WICKED will play Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. on Sundays. There will be a 2:00pm matinee on Thursday, February 21st. Billed as a “magical tale,” WICKED stars Christine Dwyer as Elphaba, Jeanna de Waal as Glinda, Billy Harrigan Tighe as Fiyero, Gina Ferrall as Madame Morrible and Paul Kreppel as the Wizard.
Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster or the Bob Carr PAC.
