A man who was found illegally tampering with a Bright House cable box, hooking up cable to an apartment on west Concord Street, was arrested early on Christmas morning, Orlando Police said.
Gregory Riordan Tennin, 59, of Cordova Drive was arrested early on December 25, after Orlando Police suspected he had tampered with a Bright House cable box, hooking up a gray cable to the interior of apartment #7 at 722 west Concord Street, off West Colonial Drive.
When police arrived at the apartment complex, after receiving a call that there was a suspicious person around, they found the cable box tampered with and a gray cable going to an open window, which they identified as apartment #7.
Margaret Ann Robertson, 43 years, the resident of apartment #7 told police her cable was not working and she had called Tennin as she thought he worked for Bright House Networks. According to police, Robertson said that even though Tennin had run the cable to her apartment, the television did not work. Police said that while speaking to Robertson, it appeared that a television was working properly inside the apartment.
Tennin was arrested, although he told police that he had not touched any of the cable and had come over to Robertson’s apartment to collect a Christmas gift.
Police found multiple tools in a bag which Tennin carried, along with a tan colored Bright House Networks collared shirt. Multiple tools and miscellaneous cable were also found in his vehicle.
Bright House Networks confirmed to police that Tennin does not work for the company.
Tennin was charged with altering/tampering with a utility meter or apparatus, criminal mischief and unauthorized reception of common services. Earlier this year, in April 2010, Tennin was charged with similar crimes.
Tennin’s bond was set at $1,250.
