The driver of a Brevard County School bus with 14 Viera High School students on board, loss control as he traveled on Crane Creek Boulevard, crashing into a retention pond Wednesday morning, Florida Highway Patrol say.
Troopers say, the school bus was traveling on Crane Creek Boulevard near Murrell Road around 8:15 a.m., when it appears the driver, who has not been identified had a medical episode and lost consciousness.
The school bus crossed over Murrell Road, up onto the grass and traveled toward a retention pond. The front of the school bus traveled into about 4 feet of water in the retention pond, troopers say.
None of the students were injured.
The 67-year-old driver of the school bus was taken to Wuestoff Rockledge Hospital in critical condition.
Troopers say, the crash remains under investigation.
