Brett Favre X-Rated Photo Scandal Growing Costly

The Brett Favre scandal is getting costly for Brett Favre, who made around $7 million in endorsements last year from endorsement deals with Wrangler, Snapper lawnmowers, Nike, MasterCard and several others.

This weekend Wrangler jeans pulled the spots that featured the star Minneapolis quarterback following the Brett Favre scandal.  The ads were scheduled to run during NFL games.

The Brett Favre scandal has not caused Wrangler to pull Favre’s photo from the Wrangler website.

And there is more fallout from the Brett Favre scandal. Favre met with NFL’s vice president of security, Milt Alereich, two days in a row at Minnesota Vikings’ headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minn., according to ESPN.

Brett Favre has yet to make any public comments about those private pictures apparently of him.  During a conference call with reporters in advance of Sunday night’s Vikings-Packers game, Favre said the NFL’s investigation of him was a “league” matter.

“More people are already talking about the Brett Favre scandal than Brett Favre the star quarterback,” says Glenn Selig, founder of The Publicity Agency (www.thepublicityagency.com), a top crisis management PR firm.  “This crisis won’t just go away.  He needs to deal with it.”

Jenn Sterger, the former NY Jets sideline gameday reporter who was on the receiving end of the X-rated photos allegedly of Brett Favre, has lawyered up.

ESPN reports that she has retained LaRusso and Conaway, a Long Island law firm.

Depending on the outcome of NFL’s investigation of the Brett Favre scandal, Favre could be fined or suspended.
