Orlando police would like the public’s help in identifying a man who attempted to kidnap a 13-year-old boy who was jogging on Sunday morning.

The boy told investigators he was jogging just before 8:30 a.m. when he stopped to use a portable restroom near a construction site at Ethan Lane and Prospect Avenue in Baldwin Park in Orlando.

The teen also told investigators that an unidentified male called him to come over near his vehicle and attempted to pull him to the bed of his pick-up truck.  The boy was able to pull away and run from the area.

The suspect left in an unknown direction and has not been located, investigators say.

The suspect is described as a large framed white male with red hair, blue eyes and a goatee, weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was driving a newer model black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect or incident, is urged to call Crimeline at 1-800- TIPS. If anyone sees this suspect, do not approach him, but call 911 immediately.

Police say, this is an active investigation.
