A Volusia County deputy, driving under the influence of alcohol, crashed into a police cruiser before he was apprehended.
Investigators in South Daytona said that John Harvey, one of their officers, who was driving a personal vehicle while off duty, hit a police cruiser from behind and get on going.
After the officer caught up with Harvey, he seemed “very confused”, when he was asked to turn off his car.
Harvey taken to the county jail, booked and then later released. Harvey, who has worked with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office since 1997 has been placed on administrative leave.
