The Titan United States Virtual Competition is a Web-based educational game which can be described as a mini virtual Apprentice without Donald Trump.

Boone High School is the first Orange County Public School to enter the national competition. The team was made up of 18 sophomores called the Finance Squad (FSQUAD). They competed against 40 teams from across the country over three weeks.

In the end, the FSQUAD came out of top winning first place with a score of 724.

The competition consisted of students taking on the role of a corporate business leader. The students had to make decisions that affect profitability and sustainability of their virtual company. They had to outperform competitors in profit, sales and market share.

Each day for 21 days the students had to work together to make business decisions that could make or break their company in a tough economic climate.

Boone High School teacher Bill Daniel said, “The FSQUAD prevailed with hard work and great team work.”  The team will be awarded $1,500 from Junior Achievement.

Congratulations, Boone High School FSQUAD.
