New evidence in a motor vehicle crash involving Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer’s 17-year-old son revealed that, a bong was found in the area of the accident, WKMG reported Wednesday.
Last month, Dyer’s teen son blew threw a stop sign and crashed into a house in the College Park area. Dyer said, his son talked to the homeowner whose house was damaged and took responsibility, but left the scene before police arrived.
According to Local 6, police said, the bong found in bushes in the vicinity of the crash site didn’t appear to be related to the crash. It is not clear how police determined it was not connected, but said, to do finger-printing would have been a waste of resources.
The investigation report obtained by WKMG showed the teens didn’t want police involved and they begged a witness not to call 911. The witness also said those involved in the crash were “young and appear to be intoxicated,” according to phone calls released.
The documents note that the homeowner thought the teens “extremely polite,” but they didn’t want police to be called, WKMG reported. The teens took off running as police pulled up.
Police didn’t say how long it took to track the teens down after the crash, nor their condition.
