Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday publicly apologized for requesting Gov. Rick Scott to delay an execution so she could attend, on the same evening, her re-election campaign fundraiser in Tampa, tbo.com reports.

“I should not have requested the execution be moved. It had been (delayed) twice,” she told reporters following Tuesday’s cabinet meeting.

Bondi, who apologized at least three times said: “I should not have moved it. I’m sorry. And it will not happen again. Next question.”

Based on a request from Bondi, Scott agreed to postpone the execution of convicted killer Marshall Lee Gore, who was scheduled to die by lethal injection on September 10.

Scott, who changed the date of the execution to October 1, said he wasn’t aware that it conflicted with Bondi’s fundraising event.

The planned execution of Gore had already been delayed twice by the courts, when Bondi made the request to Scott.
