Blake leads Women’s XC at Trinity

Senior state champion Bridget Blake captured first place with a time of 19:36 and senior Amber Johnson placed fifth at 20:17 as Women’s Cross Country finished fourth among 16 teams at the Trinity Prep Invitational. Abbey Baron finished in 24:33 (37th) and Melissa Lore came in three seconds later at 24:36 (39th) with Omina Onyame closing out the DP field at 28:09 (61st). The Panthers will head up to Gainesville Saturday for the Mountain Dew Invitational at the University of Florida.

Men’s Cross Country placed third in the 19-team Trinity Prep Invitational with Adam Lawrence leading the way in 18:38, good for 13th place.  Mark Canty closed out in 20th place at 18:59, followed by Tommy DiMauro in 28th at 19:32.  Anthony Rojas crossed the finish line in 34th place at 20:05 and David Taylor rounded out the scoring for the Panthers with a time of 22:11 (81st). Up next for DP is the Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville this Saturday.

Fall sports are in full swing this week.  Today Women’s Golf plays Edgewater while Men’s Golf takes on West Orange.  On Tuesday, Women’s Volleyball plays Boone.  There are bowling matches later in the week, and of course, a Friday night football game vs. Wekiva.
