Actor Bill Bob Thorton’s daughter, Amanda Brumfield, 29, has been charged with first degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter in the 1-year-old death of her goddaughter, Olivia Garcia.
Official sources say that the story Brumfield gave to authorities was at variance with the autopsy report on the baby. Brumfield had said that the baby fell out of the playpen and hit her head. However, the report concluded that the baby’s injuries which included a skull fracture and bleeding of the brain, could not be consistent with such a fall.
Following an emotional court appearance, Brumfield was not released on bond and remains in the Orange County Jail.
